Actor Heino Ferch and Olympic equestrian Marie-Jeanette Ferch have ended their marriage after more than two decades together. The couple, once considered a dream pair in the celebrity world, have officially separated.
A love story comes to an end
Heino and Marie-Jeanette Ferch’s romance began in 2002, leading to their marriage three years later. Over the course of their relationship, they welcomed three children, with their youngest son Karl born in 2021 when the film star was 58. However, after 22 years together, their love has now come to an end.
Heino Ferch’s lawyer, Christian Schertz, confirmed the separation to the “Bild” newspaper. Schertz emphasized that no further explanations would be given and requested respect for the family’s privacy.
From family bliss to separation
Just last year, Heino Ferch had spoken fondly of his family life, particularly after the birth of his son Karl. “The little one is a great joy for us. He refocuses the family on what’s essential. It’s totally wonderful,” he had said at the time. Karl is Ferch’s fourth child overall, with his first daughter born to doctor Julia von Pufendorf before his marriage to Marie-Jeanette.
Careers and shared passions
Heino Ferch, now 61, began his career in theater before becoming a successful film actor in the late 1980s. He has appeared in notable films such as “Run Lola Run,” “Downfall,” and “The Baader Meinhof Complex.”
Marie-Jeanette Ferch, 47, is an accomplished equestrian who qualified for the 2000 Sydney Olympics. The couple shared a passion for equestrianism, with Heino playing polo and their children also involved in riding. Their daughter Ava is a show jumper, and son Gustav also enjoys riding, as Marie-Jeanette mentioned in a 2019 interview with “Reitturniere.de.”
