In general, the CHE Ranking collects many different indicators that can be used for a ranking. In addition, the university’s facilities, the study results of various sections and the international orientation are also taken into account.

Quality of teaching and learning: Students rated the overall quality of teaching and learning in their department on a scale of 1 (very good) to 6 (very bad). This indicator is a single question, not an index of various individual questions. The average of the assessments for the respective department is shown.
Course offerings: Students rated the breadth of content, international orientation and interdisciplinarity of the course offerings; index of several individual assessments, rating on a scale of 1 (very good) to 6 (very bad). The average of the assessments for the respective subject is shown.
