In the early hours of Monday, a tragic apartment fire in Berlin-Marzahn resulted in the death of one person. The Berlin Fire Department was alerted to the blaze at 1:28 AM in a ten-story residential building on Rhinstraße. The fire had engulfed an apartment on the first floor.
Firefighters were able to rescue the individual from the burning apartment, but despite immediate resuscitation efforts, the person tragically died at the scene. The identity of the victim and the cause of the fire remain undisclosed by the authorities.
According to an on-site reporter, the victim is believed to be a woman. Initial investigations suggest that the fire may have started in the kitchen, but the exact cause is still under investigation.
The Berlin Fire Department responded to the incident with a significant deployment of 46 personnel and extensive equipment, including six fire engines, two aerial ladders, and several rescue and emergency medical vehicles.
