Alessandra Meyer-Wölden has moved back to Germany and is living with her ex-husband Oliver Pocher. The former couple, who share three children, are now under the same roof in Cologne.
Alessandra Meyer-Wölden, a well-known designer, and comedian Oliver Pocher were married from 2009 to 2013. The couple, who tied the knot in September 2010, divorced in 2014. Despite their separation, they have maintained contact, not only because of their three children—a daughter and twin sons—but also due to their collaborative work on their podcast “Die Pochers! Frisch recycelt” (“The Pochers – Freshly Recycled”), which they have been recording for several months. Recently, the former couple has taken their relationship a step further by living together again.
In a new podcast episode titled “Coming home,” released on August 15, 2024, Meyer-Wölden announced that she has moved back in with Pocher. Originally from Munich, she had been living in Miami for several years but decided to leave the United States and relocate to Germany—specifically to Cologne, where Pocher resides.
“You knew it for years”
“You’ve known for years that we’d eventually come back. The first breaking news of the day: we’re officially back in Germany,” Meyer-Wölden said to Pocher and their listeners. She explained that she and her children made the decision to move after a major family meeting. One of the reasons for their return is that Meyer-Wölden is “totally involved professionally” in Germany, particularly because of their podcast.
“We’re staying with you for now. At home,” the 41-year-old revealed during the conversation with Pocher. She added that his house is “big enough.” However, their living arrangement is temporary until Meyer-Wölden finds a suitable property. The shared living situation appears to be working well. “We all get along. The kids are happy. I think you’re happy that I’m here too. I bring a bit of order to the house. And healthy food. And I keep an eye on you,” she shared.
Initially, Meyer-Wölden had planned to return to her hometown of Munich, where her mother, brother, friends, and “of course, my heart” are. However, the media city of Cologne convinced her to stay for both professional and family reasons. Not all of her family moved back to Germany with her. From her marriage to an American entrepreneur, she has two other children, also twins, who have stayed in Miami, where their base is. “But we’ll find a solution for that as well. We’re trying it out for six months now, [we’ll] commute,” Meyer-Wölden explained.
