Wizz Air has introduced a new flight subscription, offering unlimited flights for a yearly fee. While the deal seems appealing, several conditions and hidden costs may make it less attractive than it appears.

Wizz Air has introduced a new flight subscription.

Wizz Air launches “All You Can Fly” subscription

Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air has unveiled a new subscription service called “All You Can Fly.” This concept, familiar from restaurant buffets or streaming services, promises unlimited flights for a flat annual fee. Currently available at a promotional price of €499 until August 16, the regular price will be €599 per year. The subscription covers all international routes offered by Wizz Air, including destinations like Abu Dhabi, Tel Aviv, Dubai, and the Maldives.

The fine print reveals limitations

Despite the attractive offer, there are several important caveats. The subscription is best suited for spontaneous travelers, as bookings can only be made within a 72-hour window before departure. Additionally, seat availability is not guaranteed, meaning that Wizz Air cannot assure that “All You Can Fly” seats will be available on specific flights within the subscription period.

Subscribers should also be aware that flight changes are not permitted. Furthermore, the subscription can be canceled by Wizz Air if a subscriber fails to show up for three flights, with a potential penalty being applied.

Additional fees and restrictions

The cost of the subscription does not end with the annual fee. A closer look at the fine print reveals additional charges, including a booking fee of €9.99 per flight. Baggage is also not included; checked luggage incurs an extra fee, and even hand luggage is not covered. The subscription only includes a personal item with maximum dimensions of 40 × 30 × 20 cm.

Moreover, the promise of “All You Can Fly” is somewhat misleading. The FAQ section of the offer notes that only a limited number of flights are available to subscribers. For travelers who are flexible, spontaneous, and pack light, this subscription might still be appealing. However, those interested should act quickly, as Wizz Air has limited the offer to just 10,000 memberships. Flights booked under this subscription will be available starting in September 2024.
