A 50-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday following an attempted bank robbery in Neuss, near Düsseldorf. The incident took place in a bank branch in the Grimlinghausen district when the man entered the building in the afternoon, armed with a knife, and demanded cash. Some employees managed to escape, while others locked themselves in separate rooms.
Suspect known to police
The police quickly surrounded the bank and apprehended the man as he exited the building. The arrest was made without resistance, and no injuries were reported during the operation. Authorities revealed that the suspect had a history of various offenses. Additionally, a blood sample was taken from him on suspicion of drug use.
