FC Bayern’s hopes of securing the talents of winger Désiré Doué have been dashed as the player reportedly decides to join Paris Saint-Germain instead. Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed the news late Sunday night, stating that the highly sought-after player has chosen the French club over the German record champions.

Initially, reports from outlets like Sky had suggested that Doué was leaning towards a move to Bayern. The player himself remained silent on the matter while representing France at the Olympics. Following the team’s loss in the final, Doué commented, “I was fully focused on the Olympics. Now that the Olympics are over, I need to make a decision, and that will happen in a few days.”

That decision has apparently been made, with Doué opting for Paris Saint-Germain. The transfer fee is expected to exceed 50 million euros.

Doué was set to be Bayern’s fifth new signing this season, following the arrivals of Nestory Irankunda, Hiroki Itō, João Palhinha, and Michael Olise. However, the deal will not materialize. Meanwhile, there are significant developments on the departure side for Bayern. According to media reports, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui are set to move to Manchester United in a combined deal worth around 70 million euros.

Désiré Doué, born on June 3, 2005, in Angers, France, is a highly talented French professional footballer who plays as a midfielder and winger for Ligue 1 club Rennes. Doué began his football journey at a young age, joining the Rennes youth academy in 2011. He made his professional debut for Rennes on August 7, 2022, and quickly made a name for himself by scoring his first professional goal later that month. Known for his versatility and technical skills, Doué has represented France at various youth levels, including the under-17, under-19, and under-21 teams, and has also played for the French Olympic team in 2024.

Doué’s rise to prominence has been marked by several notable achievements, including becoming the youngest French scorer in European club competitions. His performances have attracted attention from top European clubs, and he recently decided to join Paris Saint-Germain, a move that highlights his growing reputation in the football world. Despite his young age, Doué has already made significant contributions to his teams and is considered one of the most promising prospects in European football.
