Series of violent incidents

The Wolfenbüttel Police reported on Friday, October 4 that two serious physical assaults, along with threats and insults, took place on the night of August 31. The incidents include:

1. Attack on three men (ages 37 and 38):

    • Occurred around 1:30 AM as victims walked to their car
    • Perpetrators prevented them from entering their vehicle
    • Victims were thrown to the ground and kicked
    • Resulted in pain, bruising, and hematomas

    2. Earlier assault on a couple:

      • Victims: 23-year-old woman and 24-year-old man
      • Initially insulted and spat upon
      • Both were beaten and kicked
      • Woman suffered a broken metacarpal requiring surgery

      Police investigation and witness appeal

The police suspect the same group may have committed additional crimes during the festival. The investigation includes:

      • Charges of breach of the peace
      • Search for potential additional victims
      • Appeal for witnesses to come forward

Witnesses are urgently requested to contact the police at:

      • 05331/9331
      • 05306/932230

Police officials emphasize the importance of witness cooperation to identify the perpetrators and prevent future incidents. The statement indicates that victims were typically attacked while leaving the festival, first verbally abused, then physically assaulted.
