Several people were injured in violent attacks at a firefighters’ festival in Sickte, Wolfenbüttel. A group of 20 to 30 young people is under investigation for multiple assaults that occurred during the event.
Series of violent incidents
The Wolfenbüttel Police reported on Friday, October 4 that two serious physical assaults, along with threats and insults, took place on the night of August 31. The incidents include:
1. Attack on three men (ages 37 and 38):
- Occurred around 1:30 AM as victims walked to their car
- Perpetrators prevented them from entering their vehicle
- Victims were thrown to the ground and kicked
- Resulted in pain, bruising, and hematomas
2. Earlier assault on a couple:
- Victims: 23-year-old woman and 24-year-old man
- Initially insulted and spat upon
- Both were beaten and kicked
- Woman suffered a broken metacarpal requiring surgery
Police investigation and witness appeal
The police suspect the same group may have committed additional crimes during the festival. The investigation includes:
- Charges of breach of the peace
- Search for potential additional victims
