A Norwegian man managed to fly from Munich to Stockholm without a ticket and carrying a knife in his pocket. This security breach raises serious concerns about airport safety measures.
In a shocking incident, a 39-year-old Norwegian man successfully boarded a flight from Munich to Stockholm without a valid ticket. The event has raised significant concerns about the effectiveness of security protocols at Munich Airport. According to reports from Bild, the man bypassed the ticket check at Terminal 2 on August 4. He reportedly followed closely behind another passenger, effectively slipping through the ticket control unnoticed. The security check at the terminal also failed to detect his lack of a boarding pass, allowing him to proceed further without issue. It wasn’t until he was on the plane, which was fully booked, that his absence of a boarding pass was discovered. He was then handed over to the police.
Second attempt leads to successful flight, knife discovered
Remarkably, this incident did not deter the man. He made another attempt and this time successfully boarded a Lufthansa flight without a ticket. The crew became suspicious when he expressed a desire to immediately return to Munich after reaching Stockholm. Swedish police were notified, and upon searching the man, they found a 10-centimeter knife in his possession.
Munich Airport spokesperson Henner Euting told Bild that the investigation into how the man managed to bypass the automatic boarding pass control and security checks is ongoing. The airport and airline are also examining how he was able to pass through the boarding gates without a ticket. The incident underscores the need for a thorough review of security measures to prevent such breaches in the future.
