A well-known German rapper reportedly faces a ban from a popular Tegel bar following a disagreement over dress code.
A recent incident at the Berlin cultural bar “Dicke Paula” in Tegel involved rapper Sido, causing a stir over the weekend. Influencer Daniel Kallweit, also known as “Blocki030,” claimed that Sido, who was dining at the bar with Kallweit and another man, was kicked out because they refused to remove their hats.
Bar owner Gina Kahl-Reißner confirmed the incident to the newspaper “Tagesspiegel” but noted that she did not recognize Sido. According to Kahl-Reißner, one of the men reacted angrily to the staff’s request to remove their hats and threatened to post about the incident online. Sido himself has not commented on the situation.
Following the altercation, Sido reportedly sent numerous upset voice messages to “Blocki030” about the behavior of the Tegel restaurant staff, according to Kallweit’s video.
Kallweit also criticized the quality of “Dicke Paula” in his video, alleging that the bar was dirty, the staff overworked, and that food was only freshly cooked once a week. He accused the owner of attempting to profit from price hikes.
Kahl-Reißner defended her decision, stating, “Dicke Paula is my living room. I cook using my grandmother’s recipes from Thuringia, so my rules apply here—old-school rules, like Grandma’s.” She emphasized that these rules apply to all guests. The hat ban at “Dicke Paula” is not new; the owner even wrote a song about it last year.
