A major police operation is underway in Hamburg’s Barmbek-Süd district. Special forces have surrounded a massage parlor due to a possible hostage situation.

The Hamburg police have been conducting a large-scale operation in the Barmbek-Süd district since midday. A police spokesperson stated that forces have been on the scene since approximately 12 pm, but the exact nature of the incident remains unclear.

According to a report by the “Bild” newspaper, a hostage situation may have developed in a massage parlor. The report suggests that a person might be held against their will inside the establishment. Special units of the Hamburg police have reportedly surrounded the building.

Ongoing investigation

The police have not confirmed the report of a possible hostage situation. A police spokesperson emphasized that the background of the operation is still uncertain. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not provided further details at this time.

The situation continues to develop, and more information is expected as the police operation progresses. Residents and passersby are advised to avoid the area and follow any instructions given by law enforcement personnel.
