A young woman was allegedly raped by multiple individuals in East Westphalia. Authorities are investigating seven suspects in connection with the crime.
Incident occurred after disco visit
The alleged group-rape took place on August 24th in the parking lot of a large disco in Herford, East Westphalia. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the incident occurred after a visit to the disco and involved a young woman from the Münsterland region.
The prosecutor’s office is investigating six men and one woman in connection with the case. While the exact age of the victim was not disclosed, she was described as a young adult. Local newspapers, including the “Mindener Tageblatt” and “Westfalen-Blatt,” reported that the victim is 18 years old.
Suspects in custody and ongoing investigation
The public prosecutor’s office did not provide specific ages for the suspects but stated that the group includes four young adults, two adults, and one juvenile. Two of the accused are already in pre-trial detention.
“Several search warrants have been executed, during which evidence and traces were secured and are currently being evaluated,” the prosecutor’s office reported. According to multiple media sources, several apartments were searched in early September as part of the investigation.
The authorities are continuing their investigation into this serious case, focusing on gathering and analyzing evidence to determine the full extent of the alleged crime and the involvement of each suspect.
