The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is set to continue its successful “1,000+” project week from January 13 to 17, 2025. This initiative, following a successful debut in January 2024, aims to connect talented students with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that may struggle to access top talent due to limited resources or lower visibility compared to larger companies.
A unique opportunity for students and SMEs
The “1,000+” project week is designed to bridge the gap between the needs of SMEs and the ambitions of TUM students. The program offers a platform where master’s students can gain insights into industry culture, while companies benefit from direct access to TUM’s pool of talent and networking opportunities.
During the project week, up to five TUM students will spend a week at a participating company, immersing themselves in the company’s work culture. The companies lead the week, presenting a real business challenge that they have previously addressed internally. Students will engage in interviews, workshops, and role-plays to understand the company’s business processes and develop their own solutions.
At the end of the week, students will present their solutions in the form of a poster. Companies will then share their original solutions, providing an opportunity for discussion and comparison between the students’ and the company’s approaches.
A showcase event
In April 2025, TUM will host a special event where the “1,000+” teams will exhibit their posters. This event will allow corporate partners to learn more about TUM and connect with the university and its network.
The “1,000+” project week offers numerous advantages:
- For students: It enhances their skills and expands their interests while serving as ambassadors for TUM, bringing valuable experiences back to the university.
- For companies: It provides direct access to TUM’s talented students and opportunities to actively recruit them.
