A tragic shooting occurred in the early hours of Thursday in Berlin-Schöneberg, leaving a 42-year-old man dead. The incident took place around 1 a.m. at the intersection of Bülowstraße and Potsdamer Straße, where the victim, a rapper, was shot while sitting in his BMW. The police are now turning to the public for assistance, asking for anyone who may have witnessed the event or has any information about it to come forward.

The homicide department has posed specific questions to potential witnesses:

  • Who witnessed the shooting around 1 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the intersection of Bülowstraße and Potsdamer Straße and can provide information?
  • Who captured photos and/or videos of the incident or the individuals involved and can send them to the homicide department?
  • Who can provide relevant information regarding the individuals or circumstances involved in the crime?
  • Who can offer any information that might help identify the suspect(s)?

Anyone with information is urged to contact the 7th Homicide Division at Keithstraße 30, 10787 Berlin-Tiergarten, via phone at (030) 4664-911777 or by email at lka117-hinweis@polizei.berlin.de. Alternatively, witnesses can reach out to any police station.

Victim dies at the scene despite resuscitation attempts

Despite the swift response of emergency services, the 42-year-old man succumbed to his injuries shortly after being shot. Following the discharge of at least three bullets, paramedics attempted to resuscitate the victim at the scene. However, according to a spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office, he was pronounced dead shortly after in the ambulance. The victim had been sitting in the vehicle with a companion when the shots were fired, and his passenger was also injured.

Investigators are still determining the involvement of a second person who was injured. According to sources from the German Press Agency (dpa), there is a strong indication that this individual may have been an innocent bystander. However, when questioned on Friday, a spokesperson for the Berlin Public Prosecutor’s Office clarified that this aspect remains under investigation.
