In Berlin, a paramedic was racially insulted by a woman she was attempting to help after the woman briefly lost consciousness and fell. In a separate incident in Frankfurt am Main, a paramedic was attacked with stones while trying to assist a woman.
A disturbing incident occurred early Sunday morning in the Charlottenburg district of Berlin. According to the police, a 32-year-old man had called emergency services after his girlfriend, who had been drinking, temporarily lost consciousness and fell. The paramedics, including a 26-year-old female responder, arrived at a hotel where the incident took place.
Despite needing medical assistance, the 20-year-old woman refused to be treated by the paramedic and proceeded to racially insult her. The paramedics then called the police for assistance.
The woman later underwent a voluntary alcohol test, which revealed a blood alcohol level of 1.6 per mille. Following a prosecutor’s order, a blood sample was taken from her at the police station, after which she was released. The State Security Division of the Berlin State Criminal Police Office is now investigating the case on charges of racist insult.
