Thomas Gottschalk has said “I do” for the second time. The entertainer has married his partner, Karina Mroß.
After separating from his ex-wife Thea, Thomas Gottschalk found new happiness with Karina Mroß. The couple has been together since 2019. A few months ago, the former “Wetten, dass..?” star announced their engagement. Now, their big day has arrived, and they have sealed their love with a wedding, according to the “Bild” newspaper.
On August 23, Gottschalk and his wife reportedly exchanged vows in a small bohemian-style ceremony. The entertainer rented a house with a large garden in Ibiza for the occasion. The bride and groom only informed their closest friends and family about the wedding plans in advance.
“Barefoot and all in white”
Gottschalk described how they spent the day: “A normal wedding with three guests in Ibiza, with a happy bride and groom who swore eternal loyalty barefoot and all in white. That’s how we wanted it, and that’s how it was!” he is quoted as saying. Their guests reportedly included Melina, the 28-year-old daughter of the bride, and their close friends Jonica Jahr-Goedhart and Peter Goedhart, who served as witnesses.
According to “Bild,” the bride now bears her husband’s last name and is also named Gottschalk. She appeared at the ceremony in a floor-length white lace dress in front of a flower-adorned wedding arch with a sea view. Thomas Gottschalk wore a light embroidered linen shirt with white linen pants, as seen in photos of the wedding obtained by “Bild.” Later, the celebration reportedly continued in swimwear at a beach bar.
“We want to encourage others”
The wedding rings, according to “Bild,” were crafted by a jeweler in their old hometown of Baden-Baden. The couple reportedly officially registered their marriage at the registry office on August 27. Gottschalk’s sons, Roman and Tristan, were aware of the wedding plans, but the exact date was kept a secret until the last moment.
“With our wedding, we also want to encourage everyone who believes in a late happy ending,” Thomas Gottschalk told “Bild” and announced, “There will also be a bachelor party, but that will happen on TV, and it won’t be without Günther Jauch. Everyone knows how much he enjoys such things.”
Gottschalk was married to his first wife, Thea, from 1976 until May 2024. Their son Roman was born in 1982, and they adopted Tristan Gottschalk in 1989.
