Under the motto “Basses connect,” the techno parade “Zug der Liebe” (Train of Love) made its way through the center of Berlin. The participants aimed to promote tolerance, diversity, and solidarity.
Fewer participants than expected attended the start of the “Zug der Liebe” techno parade as it wound through Berlin’s city center. In the afternoon, the police estimated that around 7,500 people were present, although 20,000 had been expected. Numerous music trucks, blasting loud bass and electronic music, traveled from Mauerpark in Prenzlauer Berg to Oranienstraße in Kreuzberg.
This year, the organizers announced online that they wanted to “make a strong statement for tolerance, diversity, and solidarity.” Slogans such as “Refugees still welcome,” “Techno creates education,” and “Love wins” were displayed on the trucks and banners. According to the police, the “Zug der Liebe” proceeded without any significant disturbances.
