A 47-year-old suspect has been arrested in Ansbach following an attempted murder. The incident involved the suspect deliberately hitting a pedestrian with his car before attacking him with a knife.
Victim seriously injured in targeted attack
According to police reports, the 28-year-old victim was walking on the sidewalk of Schalkhäuser Landstrasse when he was struck by the suspect’s vehicle. After hitting the pedestrian, the driver exited his car and proceeded to stab the victim with a knife. The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a hospital for treatment. The suspect was due to appear before an investigating judge.
Police have indicated that the two men involved in the incident were acquainted with each other.
